2017: My Mind was Plagued with Shame and Isolation

I drew this at the end of a year full of isolation and forced creativity that resulted in patterns of horrible self-talk and very low self confidence. Other than a few select people that really helped me through this time, ❤ , I was not myself at all.

When I look at this, I can see how overwhelmed and tangled my mind was, but I can also see an internal peace and strength at the center of it all. The first picture (below) is someone I relate to much more.

I think one day I’ll have the time to put the journey of 2017 into words, but for now I’m happy to have moved on and grown from this time.
